From May to June 2011 the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) conducts a campaign "Plant a Forest for the leopard." In the south-west of Primorye, where they found refuge from the last remaining 40 Amur leopards planet, volunteers will plant one million saplings of Korean pine. That cedar-broadleaf forests can provide a leopard enough food and give it a reliable shelter. But because of deforestation and frequent fires, they degrade gradually turning into a low-value oak forests and treeless wasteland. To stop this process, three years ago, WWF launched a project to restore the cedar-broad-leaved forests on Earth Leopard. This year, the funds for purchasing seedlings WWF provided "Citibank" in honor of the 1 million bank customers in Russia. Seedlings will be planted in specially prepared areas of the forest in the Khasan and Ussuri regions of Primorye and the landing will be the largest share of the restoration of forest habitats of rare cats.
