MORT D'UNE JEUNE TIGRESSE AFFAMEE DANS UN RUCHER LE  30 JANVIER DANS LE DISTRICT DE KHABAROVSK, AU DELA DU 51ème PARALLELE (source : Pavel Fomenko, ce jour).

The rare occurrence of the Amur tiger by 51 parallel over the death of the predator

The project WWF «Northern Tiger" made a detailed case study of tiger hunting Vaninsky region of Khabarovsk Krai. Крайне истощенный зверь носил под шкурой следы старого огнестрельного ранения. It is extremely emaciated animal skin worn by the traces of an old gunshot wound.

"In this tragic case is, of course, that shoot almost an adult female, which in the long term, could leave offspring, - says program coordinator of WWF Russia Amur branch biodiversity Pavel Fomenko. - The most disturbing and alarming are the potential motives which prompted concealed under normal conditions, the tiger to go to housing rights and carry out an attack.  Research and analysis of causes of death of the physiological state of the predator, conducted by veterinarians of the Maritime Academy of Agriculture, pointed out that the beast was in a high degree of exhaustion and, moreover, bore traces of the old skin of a gunshot wound. "

The most difficult part of the project by WWF and the Swedish zoo  "North Ark", aimed at preserving the most northerly in the Sikhote-Alin group of Amur tiger is the most extreme track calls of predators. This is important, especially in terms of prevention of conflicts between tigers and humans, as the tiger, getting in terms of unusual for him, as a rule, the lack of basic food items, may pose a threat to humans or pets. The key point of this monitoring is to fix sound scientific information about the pulsations of tiger habitat, species dispersal, and its adaptation to new conditions. Therefore, the incident in the district of the Khabarovsk Territory Vaninsky immediately attracted the attention of WWF.

January 30, 2012 a young female tiger about six o'clock in the evening came to an apiary, standing on the bank of the river Tumnin. To make it clearer where it is - you find on the map 51 parallel and back on it 60 kilometers inland from the coast of the Tatar Strait.  Most likely, the tiger caught the barking of dogs, which were near the home.

Hunter received a call from the Director of Services for the protection of fauna and especially protected natural territories of Khabarovsk Krai, Yuri cap on January 31.  "Blocked" the guard apiaries in the back room, but the shot was driven away into the forest.  The next morning, the beast came back to the shelter and attacked a guard dog. Hunter came out on the dogs barking and saw rushing upon him, and a predator had been shooting to kill ...

Immediately after the call has been collected a commission composed of the Director of Services for the protection of wildlife, Head of the Department of Rosprirodnadzor DFO Dmitry Grankina and program coordinator of WWF Russia Amur Branch of Pavel Fomenko. By investigating officer was involved district police office.

"The observed traces on the ground shooting a tiger, the evidence and situational analysis along with the interrogation of witnesses confirmed that the shooting of the tiger did not occur intentionally.  Explicit aggressive predator could lead to loss of life, and in this case, in the opinion of the commission, of the person who committed the shooting of a tiger are compelled and justified ", - said Yuri cap.

According to the latest extreme northern approaches of predators observed in the Khabarovsk region in almost Amur estuary, the transition was recorded on the left bank of the Amur tiger.  Traces of the tiger have been met this winter in the Jewish autonomous and Amur regions.  All these reports are closely reviewed by experts from the WWF and, if necessary, made the field of certification information in order to create the conditions for human security and the preservation of the predator.

The conditions under which the predator was in Vaninsky region of Khabarovsk Krai, were really supercomplex to the survival of young females.

"The current Federal Reserve Tumninsky close with a unique geographical position, which could potentially be home to the northern tiger is now virtually unattended and not secured.  The virtual absence of typical food resources and poaching - this is the main limiting factor for the dispersal of tigers "- draws the attention of the public and the Russian Ministry of Natural Resources Director, WWF Russia Amur Branch Yuri Darman.

LES TIGRES LES PLUS AU NORD ETOFFENT LEURS EFFECTIFS, EN LIEN AVEC DE MEILLEURES CONDITIONS DE VIE POUR LES HABITANTS (source: Pavel Fomenko, coordonnateur de l'Inspection Tigre pour le District de Khabarovsk, ce jour).

Anyuiskiy national park in the Khabarovsk region has expanded its fleet

To save the most northerly group of the Amur tiger, WWF and the Swedish zoo, "the North's Ark" was awarded the National Park presents "Anyuiskiy" and the Service to protect wildlife and specially protected natural areas

New vehicles GAZ-66, UAZ, cargo  "Mitsubishi L200» and snowmobiles, which are in a festive atmosphere in the presence of the media in early February, stuck Pandu - the symbol of WWF, will help inspectors and staff Anyui National Park Service to protect wildlife and protected areas more effectively patrol the specially protected areas and hunting grounds in the area Nanaiskiy Khabarovsk Krai.  This is where the edge of the area is the Amur tiger, which is aimed at preserving  "Northern Tiger" - a joint project of WWF and the Swedish zoo.

"As shown by monitoring of the territory inhabited by the National Park today, 10.8 Tiger.  Particularly positive is that among them is not the first we register three females.  This year they are all in place: one without cubs, another tigress - two two-year baby, and still have one - three year-old cub.  After all, if females choose breeding place of national park, so they feel comfortable in this territory, and we have taken security measures to bring results, "- said the director of the National Park "Anyuiskiy" Alexander Samarin.

During 2.5 years of service natspaka compiled 557 different protocols for violators of environmental laws, but it is, so to speak, an indirect indicator.  A basic, one that can be seen this year in the forest - is to increase the number of ungulates - the main forage resource for the tiger.

"Most importantly, we were able to establish an effective system of ungulates.  After all, when we have 3 years ago set about the work area was thoroughly destroyed - says A.Samarin. - The staff at the National Park Service Protection must be 60 inspectors working the same 17.  On the other bets simply do not yet have financing. But even the available number of inspectors we have been able, I think, to do a lot.  And in many ways - through the World Wildlife Fund, which not only helps us to build up technical equipment guards, shoes, dress Polevikov, but also made a major gift to the park - has acquired office building, reconstruction of which we are doing now. "

"Anyuiskiy" - the largest of the protected areas created in Russia for the protection of tigers in the past few years. "Horseshoe" area of 429,000 hectares of land it covers the middle of the Sikhote-Alin on the right bank of the Amur.  This is a particularly protected area (PA) plays the role of ecological corridor linking the beasts Anyui river basin with the rest of the area.

"Northern Tiger" is focused on the one hand, the most northern group of Amur tiger, it stabilized and, in the long term, population growth, on the other hand - those people who live next to this formidable predator and which largely depends on its well-being - says program coordinator of WWF Russia Amur branch biodiversity Pavel Fomenko. - The area of our project - a place inhabited by the indigenous peoples of the Amur Region, Udege and Nanai. The fight against poaching and specific actions to increase the number of wild hoofed animals, including non-ethnic food for local communities and also the main food resources tiger, will help avoid conflicts between predators and humans.  The development of the traditional nature, hunting, tourism and new jobs in the National Park will enable local residents to experience the importance of this federal protected areas for themselves and their children. No accident that one of our key partners is the Association of Indigenous Peoples of the north of Khabarovsk Krai. "

This year in the National Park are fishing Anyui 14 local hunters in the past year there were 17.  Anyone who has had hunting areas in this territory before the creation of the park have the opportunity to hunt in the park in the area of traditional land.  In 2011 the park began to take by dividing the firewood for local residents.  172 applications were received last year and was harvested 5.5 thousand cubic meters. This year already 220 families from the surrounding villages have filed an application in a national park for firewood.   This is not the primary activity of the National Park, but the administration of federal protected areas it is also engaged in the framework agreed at the MNR forest development plan to ease social tensions and to help people with firewood in the implementation of sanitary felling. Among the anti-poaching ranger brigades, created by the project "Northern Tiger" operating in the National Park and Aboriginal people: for the best local resident will understand their fellow tribesmen, such as Nanai and Udege. Summer in the village of Trinity, in the building of the national park office, visitor center will open, which means new jobs for working with tourists.  Not far off - arrangement of ethnic villages, which will feature homes, gun production, objects of everyday life of indigenous peoples, and even the demo will be equipped with a hunting Putikov.  All these examples suggest that more people in the area Nanaiskiy somehow already involved and will continue to participate in the activities of the national park, and most importantly, it will be good neighbors.  If you recall the years of survey materials, which is held by students in the district, then 52% of people not only willing to cooperate with the park, but also know in what area of work.

WWF Project  "Northern Tiger" is to ensure environmentally sustainable development Anyui National Park and surrounding areas.  Because of the striped cats inhabit, of course, outside the federal protected areas: in Nanaiskiy area, according to monitoring data, recorded about 15-17 tigers.  Their guards outside the park in partnership with the Service for the protection of wildlife and protected areas and hunting Office of Natural Resources of the Khabarovsk Territory.

"Our primary goal - to combat poaching and the maintenance of the protected areas of regional significance.  On this project since September 2011 in Nanaiskiy area in the Natural Park  "Gur Hoso" has already conducted 12 raids, patrols, revealed 34 cases of violations of environmental laws, including 2 - illegal hunting of elk, 11edinits seized firearms, of which 7 nezaregistrirovanny in the organs of Internal Affairs - told reporters at a press conference at the National Park Director of Services for the protection of wildlife and protected areas, Yuri cap.  - The load on our inspectors lies a large: 74 million hectares of hunting grounds of the Khabarovsk Krai - 32 inspectors, that is, more than 2 million per person!. With the WWF for the protection of tiger habitat, we purchased a car UAZ, snowmobile  "Buran", a boat engine.  But what else is missing, it's all-terrain vehicle.  In the same park "Gur-HOSO," where there are practically no roads, no all-terrain vehicle to patrol the area very difficult. "

Support WWF is not limited to the acquisition of technology, investment in environmental education, counseling.  "North Ark» WWF Russia sent a group of employees and the National Park Service to protect wildlife and protected areas of the Khabarovsk Krai in this northern country to explore the experiences of sustainable environmental management.  First of all - to increase the number of hoofed animals. The harmonious existence of a stable tiger population and the indigenous population in one area - the main objective of the project  "Northern Tiger."

1. In anticipation of the holiday delta of the Ili River and the southern part of Lake Balkhash in Kazakhstan declared wetland of international importance.

The total area of new land is 976.630 hectares - is a vast area, which is approximately equal to half of Slovenia.   Wetland located in southern Kazakhstan, between the desert Sary Ishik-reflection and Taukum.   Now this area is included in the list of Wetlands of International Importance of the Ramsar Convention, which was signed February 2, 1971.

Or Delta - the largest natural inland delta in Central Asia.   It connects the river to Lake Balkhash, and is home to a rich desert flora (427 species) and fauna (345 species), as well as habitat for rare species.  These include, for example, gazelle (ghazal form), ligation (family Mustelidae), white-headed duck and red-breasted goose (family Anatidae), tongue (a kind of sturgeon).   Over 70 thousand birds inhabit the area, including more than 1% of world population 8 species of birds, such as the Dalmatian pelican.   On the territory there are important fishery water bodies and its floodplains provide fertile pastures and hayfields.

"This is the area identified as a priority for the development of a tiger rehabilitation program in Kazakhstan, - Olga Pereladova, head of the WWF in Central Asia. - Giving the area Ramsar site status is extremely important as it allows to bring to these ecosystems more international attention and prevent a decline in the flow of water that can be caused by the development plans of the irrigation systems in China's Ili river valley. "

The new wetland of international importance are located in three nature reserves - Balkhash, and Karoyskogo Kukanskogo.  The Government of Kazakhstan plans to significantly improve the conservation status of the territory, is based on three single national park reserves.

2. Wetlands of the Amur augmented by new territories of international importance

In the Amur region to preserve rare cranes and storks Far East with the support of WWF are working on giving the status of wetlands of international importance for two more game reserves - Tashinskomu and Amur

February 2 is World Day of wetlands, designed to draw the attention of the public and governments around the world on the value of wetlands to maintain the sustainable development of our planet.

Vast flocks descend ducks, geese, snipe at the lake and tributaries of the great river swamps, resting, waiting for the weather, supported by a multi-day trips during the Arctic tundra in.   And for the 300 species of birds Amur River basin - a place where they were born, grew up and where to return annually to build a nest and bring offspring.

Wetlands are of international importance of the Amur and as breeding sites of rare and beautiful birds of the world - Japan and the Daurian cranes, storks Far East. So here are declared Ramsar sites six areas, including transboundary reserves « Dauria and   "Lake Hanka": Torey lake Baikal, Lake Hanka in Primorye, the Khingan-Arharinskaya lowland and Zeya-Bureya plain in the Amur region, and Bolon Udyl Lakes region in the Khabarovsk Territory.

"These areas are not enough to keep all the splendor of rare birds, which is home to the Amur basin.  And it was here 95% of nests remaining in the world of the Far Eastern storks, 65% Japanese and 50% Daurian cranes. Therefore, analyzing the long-term observations and counts, WWF Steel initiator to give the status of wetlands of international importance has two game reserves in the Amur region -  in the area and Romnenskom  "Amur" - in Constantine.  Both these areas are of great importance for the conservation of rare wading birds - cranes and storks Far East.  This work we do together with the Directorate of specially protected natural territories of the Amur region, "- says SvetlanaTitova, Program Coordinator, PA on the Amur branch of WWF Russia.

In spring and autumn thousands of birds flock to reserve located in the corn fields, resting after a long flight and accumulating strength before the next  "Throw". During the autumn of counts in the reserve account for some years prior to 2500 Cranes - black Daurian, Japan.  2-3 pairs of Japanese and Daurian cranes annually chosen the area as a place for breeding chicks.  Nest in the reserve and one of the largest in southern Zeya-Bureya plain grouping Far Stork - in 2011 there were reported 13 residential aistinyh nests. Birds in the reserve and help people - spend filing of trees suitable for nests, installed support for artificial nests, conduct fire wood.

Tashinsky Reserve, covering an area of 190 thousand hectares, is "Home" for 30 pairs of the Far Eastern stork. Nest here, and Japanese White-naped cranes, whooper swan, curlew Far East, mandarin, Sukhonos. Numerous lakes and rivers in the reserve are home to thousands of waterfowl - ducks and geese.
